The Locarno Film Festival takes over Piazza Grande, PalaVideo and the GranRex; LAC Lugano hosts concerts, operas and art fairs (MASI); Fiera Lugano in Padiglione Lac brings expert and public fairs; the Giardino Ascona and Eden Roc produce luxury galas; Mendrisio outlet and FoxTown run promo events; the castles of Bellinzona open for culture events and corporate receptions in historic settings.
Ticino produces an annual calendar that stands apart from the rest of Switzerland: the Locarno Film Festival (Europe's second-largest film festival) in August brings an international Hollywood audience to Locarno; the LAC Lugano runs concerts, opera and art fairs; Fiera Lugano hosts expert and public fairs; the luxury hotels in Ascona (Giardino Ascona, Hotel Eden Roc) produce galas and weddings; the Mendrisio outlets run promotional events. As a hostess or host you represent the occasion in Italian.
