Kanton Wallis
Valais is a canton with two languages and many faces. French is spoken in the Lower Valais around Sion, Martigny and Monthey, German in the Upper Valais between Brig, Visp and Zermatt. In between lie world-famous resorts such as Verbier and Crans-Montana, vineyards along the Rhône valley and major industrial sites, including Lonza in Visp and the chemical site at Monthey. Which events in Valais do we staff with hostesses and hosts?
Around the turn of September and October the Foire du Valais at the CERM in Martigny draws visitors from across western Switzerland – ideal for local business, wine houses and brand activations. At the end of summer the Omega European Masters is played on the Crans-Montana golf course, where sponsors book hospitality staff. In July and August the Verbier Festival brings classical stars to the mountains, and in spring come Zermatt Unplugged and the Xtreme Verbier freeride final. In Visp and Monthey industrial companies host corporate events, factory visits and recruiting days, and in Brig organisers use the Simplonhalle. Martigny adds openings and receptions around the Fondation Pierre Gianadda.
